I have to say that I was really impressed with this anthology for the price. I'm used to reading the selective anthologies by the likes of Ms. Violet Blue and Rachel Kramer Bussel because it seems that their stories overall are erotic stories and not erotic scenes. What I find most of the time when I purchase a cheaper read in the genre is a whole bunch of thrown together smut with little to no story at all, where the focal point is on sex for sex's sake.That sort of thing is okay if you just want a quick fix. But me - I like a story with my sex. And I was really happy to see that this anthology delivered and in a most tasteful and satisfying way.
You got to know the people involved so that they weren't anonymous and the scenarios were very sensuous indeed. Even if some of the people involved weren't steady couples, you never got the feeling that they were cheap one-night (or day)stands. At the end of a story, you felt that there was a future together for everyone involved.
Off the top of my head, I was annoyed with only a few stories in the anthology. The first was the one about a disturbingly noble viking (it just wasn't terribly realistic given the situation involved) and the next was the story at the end about the personal trainer, which wasn't even a part of the main anthology but a preview from the next. I didn't like that one because I felt the topic was a bit superficial and, frankly, I thought the terms of the personal trainer's contract was just an excuse for him to be a gigolo.
Anyway, for the price, I thought these stories were well-writ and they did live up to the title. None of the stories were over the top like you might find in some erotic anthologies and they were just your straight-laced (or vanilla) erotic stories for people who like to read something tame from time to time. I wouldn't mind reading the next volume in the series.
